Sanford

Hello! So, the “project” I was talking about last week has been finished, and yes, it's Sanford! Now, Sanford's armor pieces can be used for the player or other characters! Let's skip all of the nonsense words and go straight into the in-game art stuff!

Sanford

As you can see, all parts of Sanford are interchangeable. Want to have Sanford without his bandana? It'll look weird as hell...but it's possible! Do you just want his lip thing for your own character? Just grab his damn skin in the character creator!! What more can be said? It's Sanford!!!!!!!!

Next week

“Where's Deimos?” I hear you ask. Sorry, but I've chosen to exclude him from the game due to personal reasons. (I'm lazy)

Just kidding, crazy fool. Of course I'll add Deimos. In fact, I've already started working on his armor pieces! He should be done next week!!!

Oh, and I'll be playtesting the game when possible.

That's it for this week, catch you on the flipside.

We were are at a vague, Burger King-like spot in some remote location. It was reasonably busy there. There was a densely overgrown area with a weird house right next to the building.

We finished eating and wanted to pay. We were sitting at these strange arcade-like chairs. I don't know how to describe it. The screens in front of us were supposed to let us pay, but it kept failing. The screen kept claiming I had to pay the remaining €1.20. I tried again with my phone, but it kept getting worse.

Everyone else wanted to leave, but I still owed the place 8 cents. I was getting furious at this point. Dad stepped in to help but didn’t really understand what was going on. He started pushing random buttons. I kept saying, “No, not like that. Stop trying.”. Out of nowhere he said, “I've been making websites for 20 years.” What an odd response. “Okay, why are you suddenly bringing that up? Sounds pretty insecure.”, I responded. Weird conversation. He kept poking at the screen seemingly having turned his brain off. Anyway, Dikkiedik apparently left some spare change on his seat, so I tried shoving them into the coin slot. The screen went red. Messed up again.

The manager walked over and asked what the problem was. I told him the machine isn't working and that I couldn't pay. Then I noticed a giant [DEFECTIVE] sticker on the machine? That wasn't there before.

Dad and I thought, fuck this, there’s money right there on the chair. They can have it. We started to leave, but the manager said we weren't allowed to. The screen now had increasingly difficult forms to fill out. It was like one of those anti-bot captchas, but way worse. Actually, it was closer to having to fill in an extensive government form.

Eventually, there was even a screen with a ton of Burger King trivia questions. Was this an ad? There must've been more than fifty questions. "You can't leave until you finish the quiz.", said the manager. I moved REALLY close to his ear and whispered, “I hope when you get home tonight, you kill yourself.” I don’t know why I was being so unbelievably psychotic. I apologise.

We just walked out. Bye! The manager yelled something like, “Yeah, go ahead and leave again.” He implied we'd done this before. Mum thought, “Oh, he probably thinks we’re the Romanians who live around the corner.” That overgrown house, remember? "Enough with the racist stuff today!", I thought.

We were driving away in our black 2007 Mazda MX-5. Now that I think about it, that vehicle shouldn't be able to fit five people. Anyway, suddenly, Dad went nuts and drove back to that Burger King. He drove right into the Romanian garden, crashing through the fence. The manager saw it. I had no idea what Dad's goal was here and said, “Cool, now you’ll have to explain this to a judge later somehow.” Nobody was listening to me and it was total chaos.

This aside, Koof and I have been working on some more PPG items for the Steam Point Shop. I can't show them yet, because they are still under review by Valve, but I'll let you know once they're available on Steam!

Hello

I'm still animating MC 4's intro, but in the meantime, I've also been working on a different MC animation setup for Blender. The reason I'm making another one is that the current process for creating assets takes too long. Instead of just drawing a new prop, I also have to make a new mesh with the right height, width, and UV coordinates. It's so much unnecessary “beunen werk”.

The new setup I'm working on is much simpler. To import a new prop, I just need to drag it into a specific spot, and the mesh, material, and UV coordinates are automatically generated. The only problem with automating everything is that it limits my creative freedom in the animation. I added a “custom mesh” option, but it's a lazy workaround. For the next animation, I'll use the old setup while I finish developing the new one.

Here's a silly little test animation using the new setup

Uhhh actually, the FAMAS has the wrong sound 🤓

And here's the new cutscene stuff:
